Mr. V Lakshmikumaran, a prominent litigating lawyer in India with an impressive career spanning over three decades. Prior to entering legal practice in 1985, he served in the Indian Revenue Services. Today, he is a respected legal authority, representing clients across diverse sectors before various adjudicating authorities, tribunals, high courts, and the Supreme Court of India. With extensive experience in taxation, international trade, intellectual property, commercial disputes, and environmental law, he has handled over a thousand cases in the Supreme Court and various High Courts, leading to several landmark judgments. Notably, Mr. Lakshmikumaran is renowned for his expertise in trade remedy laws and TRIPs, having resolved disputes between companies and government authorities in multiple countries.

His global reach is evident, having represented clients in the European Union, the USA, Australia, and Canada. He has argued before the Dispute Settlement and Appellate Body at the WTO in trade remedy cases. As a delegate of the International Chamber of Commerce, he actively participates in international forums such as the WCO-HS Committee meetings on Classification in Brussels and has addressed gatherings like the WTO World Forum and SAWTR. His expertise also extends to speaking engagements at renowned universities such as Harvard and Cornell.
SKOCH India Law Award
SKOCH Award, independently instituted in 2003, is India’s honest civilian honour conferred by an independent organisation as a third party assessment.
